I'm Alive!
Blogging took a massive backseat unfortunately. A huge health scare will do that to you. And nothing gets you motivated to start working on the things you love again quite like your body suddenly and randomly turning on you. Happily, I've recovered for the most part. It was some minor and treatable (but very scary!) heart issues that certainly weren't helped by my panic about the whole situation. Things aren't over yet, there's a hospital bill I can barely pay, for one, but things are slowly getting better. Have to sell a few things which unfortunately has me turning to Facebook. I plan to just get in there and get out. Going back on the site reminded me of why I hated it so much in the first place.
Anyway, the spooky season approacheth, which means it's time for my annual survival horror game binge :3
I'm starting off with a run through the original Silent Hill games, which I've always loved. They're uncommonly deep in theme and symbolism, so much that I can come back to a game I've been playing for 20 years and find something new! It's a path I wish more video games had taken. So few of them aspire to be works of art these days.
Next few posts will probably be covering my adventures through my favorite (fictional) place in the United States.
I didn't take too many screenshots of Silent Hill 1, but I finished it on hard mode for the first time! I've been strongly anti-hard-mode for most of my life but I've been craving a little more challenge in my games lately, for some reason. Silent Hill definitely delivers a healthy challenge on Hard, too. All of a sudden resource management becomes very important. You'll have enough ammo or enough health items, never both.
